SOL KADI





Sol kadi is a goan delicacy and very similar to buttermilk, the difference being use of garlic and coconut milk instead of curd.Sol kadi aids in digestion process.

Ingredients:

1. 1/2 coconut - grate
2. ginger- small piece
3. green chilly - 2
4. garlic -3-4 flakes
5. 1 pinch asafoetida /hing
6.salt 2 taste
7. kokam syrup-1-2 tsp
8.water -2-2 1/2 cups
9. corriander for garnishing

METHOD:

1.grind coconut, garlic , green chilli, ginger to a paste adding water as required.
2.strain the juice in a bowl.
3.add some more water to the pulp that remains in the strainer and strain again.
4.add the remaining water to this coconut milk.
5.add kokam syrup ,salt ,hing and



 mix well
6.serve garnished with corriander.

  1. Is there a difference between kokam kadi and sol kadi? I have heard that their origin is different.
