PALAK KOFTA

ingredients:
FOR KOFTA :
palak - 3/4 bunch( discard stem )
gram flour /besan - 1 tbsp ( as required)
2-3 green chilly -chopped
1/2 tsp jeera
ginger small piece- grated( 1/2 tsp)
salt 2 taste
1 onion - chopped ( optional )
MTD FOR MAKING KOFTA:
steam the palak . cool & squeeze the water.
this water (stock) can be used in gravy.
grind the palak to a paste.
transfer the paste to a bowl & add chilly ,jeera, salt, ginger , besan, onion..
mix well.& deep fry in oil .( same as u make pacodas)
keep aside these koftas.
FOR GRAVY:
2-3 tomatoes
1 onion
3 flakes garlic
1 tsp corriander seeds/ dhaniya
1 tsp cumin seeds/ jeera
grind all the above said to a paste.
METHOD:
in 1-2 tbsp oil add bay leaf & the gravy paste.
cook till the color changes.
then add the palak stock, & water as required.( 1/2 cup water approx)
add turmeric powder, asafoetida, chilly powder, salt, 1 tsp masala powder, 1/2 tsp sugar.
cook for 5 -10 min & remove .
add the koftas to the gravy just before serving.
serve with roti.
