BEETROOOT HALWA

INGREDIENTS:

beetroot -1 kg -peel and grate
mithai mate- 1 tin
milk - 1/2 lr
sugar- 1 cup
ghee- 2 sp
roasted nuts( almond, kaju, kismis)

METHOD:
  • pressure cook the grated beetroot ,adding milk.
  • leave 3-4 whistle and  then remove. ( milk may pour out when it whistle, just press the cooker knob at that time.)
  • take a thick bottomed pan. put the pressure cooked beet.(if there is any milk in the mixture, cook in medium flame, till the milk dries . )
  • then add ghee, sugar ,mithaimate.
  • stir-fry for another three to four minutes until the halwa starts to leave the side of frying pan.
  • Garnish with cashew nuts.
  • note:
  • i added little yellow pumpkin,1 carrot to this halwa.it tastes good.
  • instead of beetroot ,use carrot to make gajar halwa.
