Why this blog

My tryst with cooking started from my college days. My granny, Andipattima and my mother Shanta exhorted and encouraged me to try out some normal daily South Indian cuisine. But as the proverb goes “Grass is always green on the other side”, I always relished the idea of trying out something different, a-la “North Indian Cuisine’. Fortunately I got married in a family where the members had traveled across the length and breadth of Northern areas and had its base in Mumbai. My mom-in-law was an expert in cooking and was always very keen to try out various North/Central India receipes.Having found out an ally in my mom-in-law, my desire and dream to learn/cook incubated and increased manifold over the years.

My due credit also goes to the internet which is one of the biggest discoveries of this modern era. It has really catapulted every individual and put him at par with various netizens by allowing us to share our knowledge and develop our creative ideas.

This blog is a collection of various recipes that I have collected from my parents, in-laws, grandparents, sister, fellow food bloggers and so many others. I also dedicate this blog to my late granny, fondly called as "Ammai"who has been a source of guidance and instrumental in all positive vibrations around me.

And last but not least the source of inspiration to start this blog goes to my sisters “ Priya and Charan” who have been my backbone and without whose support and encouragement I would have never ever dreamt of starting a blog wholly dedicated to receipes for foodies.
