VALAPU VADAI



Needed:
valapu/ plantain flower -if small 1
channa dal- 1/2 cup
red chilly
salt
hing
curry leaves
onion 1( optional)
1lavang,1 small piece pattai( optional)
mango powder -pinch (optional)

oil for frying

METHOD:

  • soak chana dal for an hour.(drain the water before grinding)
  • remove the stem and the thin long pollen like narambu from the valapu.chop and steam the pu for 10 minutes.
  • grind chana dal, red chilly,lavang pattai coarsely.
  • then add the steamed pu and turn once in mixcy.
  • do not add water for grinding.mix onion,curry leaves,salt,hing and make vadai.
