This is a konkani style dry tendli subjee which goes well withdal chawal, curd rice ...
Needed:
tendli/ ivy gourd - cut to long strips - 3 cups
mustard
curry leaf
little jaggery
salt
oil
For coconut masala:
1 cup grated coconut
( 1 tbsp- dhaniya, 1 tbsp - urad dal, 3-4 red chilly )-roast in 1tsp oiltill light brown
1 tbsp tamarind paste
grind all the above said coarsely .add little water if req.
Method:
- in a pan temper mustard, curry leaf.
- add tendli & salt, cook till tendli is soft.(can also steam the tendli in a cooker & add)
- then add the coconut masala & stir well . add jaggery & mix well.
- check the taste & adjust the seasoning as req.
- serve with rice........
