Some medicinal qualities of pirandi:
- its rich in vitamin c and calcium .
- used in curing digestive problems. it acts as an appetiser
- used to cure piles ,astma , cough , ulcer
tender pirandi stem- 1/4 cup chopped
red chilly
urad dal - 1/2 tbsp
mustard - 1/2 tsp
tamarind little
hing
salt
grated coconut little
METHOD:
- in a kadai add 2 tsp oil, temper mustard.
- then add red chilly, hing , urad dal .
- roast till light brown, remove from flame , add coconut, salt.
- in the same kadai add 1 tsp oil and slightly fry the pirandi.
- remove and along it to cool .
- then grind pirandi along with the roasted urad dal ....
- add water as req and grind to paste.(not so smooth)
NOTE:
Select tender stems of pirandai or peel of the ribs.
adding tamarind to pirandai is a must as it neutralises the itching tendency.
